Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology (Honours)

As a gymnast and sports coach Sami observed a trend of preventable injuries in adolescent athletes. This compelled her to pursue exercise physiology as a career and has fed her special interest in athletic development and injury prevention for adolescent and mature athletes across all sports. Sami is an expert in the area of aesthetic sports, and as a coach produced many state champions, state medallists, Qld representatives and national club championship medallists before transitioning into a career in exercise physiology.

As an exercise physiologist she works closely with many national level performers in artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, acrobatics, track and field. Sami’s clients include state and national level athletes, high performance athletes and Australian representatives and Commonwealth Games team members. She also works with dancers from young and developing dancers to full time and professional dancers on injury rehabilitation, injury prevention and specialised strength and conditioning programs.

In addition to her work with athletes, Sami has experience working with a broad array of clientele and thoroughly enjoys helping anyone achieve their goals whether they be to gain their best level of function, improve their health and/or manage chronic conditions, optimize their body composition or excel on the sporting field.

After spending her youth as a competitive gymnast and dancer, Sami transitioned into Track and Field and is now a competitive Triple Jumper. In 2018 she competed in QLD Open Championships and is currently preparing for the 2019 Australian Track and Field Championships.
